Happy publication day to Karen Lloyd and Earthworks πŸŽ‰

From the rainforests of Costa Rica to the Balkans and Scotland, Karen Lloyd explores the hidden life of habitats and species including sloths, the rockpool shrimp and the world’s only truly wild horse. She studies the biodiversity of urban wildflower meadows and the contested spaces of landscape recovery, including in the Lake District where she lives, assessing our human impact on the lives of creatures whose survival is deeply intertwined with our own.

In an era marked by escalating environmental crisis, this luminous collection is a rallying call – a celebration of renewal and resilience – for all who care about Earth’s future.

Happy World Wildlife Day 🌸

We're sharing a selection of our wildlife and nature titles πŸ’š

WWD "is for connecting people with the natural world and inspiring continued learning and action for animals and plants beyond the day. The 2026 theme is Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: Conserving Health, Heritage and Livelihoods."

The winner of the WWD2026 poster competition was Ms Hannah Payet.

From the WWD website: Hannah Payet is a Seychellois creative designer and illustrator specialising in brand design and visual storytelling. The poster explores the idea of humans being intrinsically connected to nature, particularly through medicinal and aromatic plants that sustain our health, food systems, and scientific research. Subtle human forms are woven into a dense botanical composition, symbolising how humanity is supported and protected by biodiversity. The illustrative style and colour palette aim to evoke harmony, interdependence, and respect for the natural world.
