Sophie Franklin

Dr Sophie Franklin is a lecturer and researcher in the English department at Tübingen University, in Germany. Her research specialises in nineteenth-century literature and culture, with expertise in representations of violence, the Brontës, and afterlives. She has taught at several institutions, including Nottingham Trent University and the University of Newcastle. Sophie received her PhD from Durham University after receiving a First from St Andrews University.

Alongside her academic career, she has co-organised Brontë conferences, worked at the Brontë Society, in bookselling, and as an editorial assistant for an independent publishing house. Charlotte Brontë Revisited is her first book.
