Audiobook Appreciation Month
It’s 11 years since our first audiobook production! During that time, we have recorded compelling dramas and thrillers, life stories that inspire, entertain and amuse and nature books that bring comfort and greater awareness about the world around us.
We’re thrilled by the success of our audiobook list. In 2023, The Reading Agency selected One Body to feature in the World Book Night Audiobook Selection. In 2023 and 2024 we were shortlisted by the Independent Publishers Awards judges for their Audio Award. And award-winning audiobooks include His Bloody Project, The Bay and Cold Fish Soup.

Spiracle – June Highlights
Earlier this year we teamed up with the brilliant Spiracle, a distinctive audiobook platform that offers the best of independent publishing. We’re delighted that four of our titles are included in their June Highlights.

Spiracle have also just announced their Audiobook in a Card scheme, which launches with independent bookshops this week coinciding with Independent Bookshop Week!
“Audiobook in a Card will give new access to the market both in terms of discoverability and business. Independent bookshops are the natural place for these books and audiobooks – in the hands of booksellers who champion great writing.
Inside the card is a QR code (with a written form for those who don’t use QR codes) which takes the customer to the audiobook redemption page on the Spiracle platform where they will be asked to add a code which the bookseller has placed on the back of the card. They will be prompted to create an account to be able to listen to their audiobook. They can listen via the Spiracle Web Player or the Spiracle Player App – available from the app stores. Their audiobook will be stored in their online Library and will be synchronised in the Player App.” Kate Bland, Director.

Independent Bookshop Week
We love independent bookshops here at Saraband, and we’ve been celebrating Independent Bookshop Week taking place this year from Saturday 15th – Saturday 22nd June.
Rosie’s favourite independent bookshops include Lighthouse bookshop, Imagined Things and Whitby Bookshop.
Rebecca’s favourite independent bookshops include Ebb and Flo, House of Books and Friends and Broadhurst Bookshop, to name only a few!
