Jim Crumley on climate chaos and our planet

As we approach World Wetlands Day, it’s time to reflect on the state of our planet and how our human impact has destroyed so much of Earth’s balance and interfered with crucial habitats. We are at a time of unprecedented climate chaos. We can’t ignore this. It’s time to take it seriously. Jim Crumley explains why.
Wetlands are crucial for biodiversity. They are among the most diverse of all our ecosystems, and they host an especially wide range of species. Not only that, but they help to regulate our environment’s water distribution and prevent flooding.
The health of our wetlands – be they marshes, bogs, peatlands, flood plains, fens, tidal estuaries, or swamps – has a direct impact on the state of our planet. On our own future on Earth.
