Shop curated collections online AND support indie bookshops – Bookshop.org has come to the UK

Bookshop.org has come to the UK!
If you haven’t heard of Bookshop.org yet, they’re an online bookshop with a mission to financially support local, independent bookshops. Which if you ask us (and every other publisher, bookseller, author…), is exactly what we need right now. At a time where we have become more reliant on online shopping it is crucial that we don’t lose sight of the importance of bricks and mortar bookshops and find ways to support them when we can’t visit in person.
–
“We believe that bookshops are essential to a healthy culture. They’re anchors for our high streets and communities. As more and more people buy their books online, we wanted to create an easy, convenient way for you to get your books and support bookshops at the same time.” Bookshop.org

How does it work?
Bookshops, publishers and authors alike all have shops on Bookshop.org. The shops consist of recommendations, carefully curated lists and highlights so that the bookshop experience still shines through. And it makes browsing much more fun!
–
If you want to find a specific local bookshop to support, find them on the map and they’ll receive the full profit from your order. Otherwise, your order will contribute to an earnings pool that will be evenly distributed among independent bookshops. They also support anyone who advocates for books through their affiliate programme, which pays a 10% commission on every sale, and gives a matching 10% to independent bookshops. So buying a book from our Bookshop.org shop will support us and indie bookshops. It sounds too good to be true, but we can assure you, it is true.

“We hope that Bookshop.org can help strengthen the fragile ecosystem and margins around bookselling and keep local bookshops an integral part of our culture and communities.” Bookshop.org
