Cabin Fever Fables – we’ve started a podcast

Posted on March 19, 2020

Whether you’re #SelfIsolating or #SocialDistancing, cabin fever is real. We don’t want anyone to feel scared or alone, so we’re starting a podcast, Cabin Fever Fables. A place to share stories, spread calm and for those of us who can, have a laugh (but we know some of you are in genuine distress; our hearts go out to you). We’ll find out how authors are surviving, from what they’re reading to what they’re cooking, and hear them read from one of their books.

We’re making it up as we go and want you to help shape what it becomes. Make sure you join in and share your own Cabin Fever Fables. All episodes are being recorded remotely as and when we can, so bear with us. Find it on SoundCloud, Spotify now all good podcast apps. You can also follow our daily bulletin on Twitter for inspiration, advice, reading lists… you name it.

Bringing you great writing from great authors is what we do, no matter what, so we’ll be doing everything we can to continue business as usual. All our author events, however, are cancelled until further notice. Cabin Fever Fables is a way of making up for this.

We want to ask our readers to be mindful of their own, and others’, mental health during this period. With physical health risks at the forefront of the news it can be easy to get overwhelmed and anxious. COVID-19 updates are everywhere, and while it’s important to stay engaged and informed you might feel like you need a break from the news every now and again, and that’s okay.

P.S. Sending books to friends is a great way to keep in touch and stay entertained. Lots of indie bookshops are now offering delivery, so take advantage of that and help keep a small business afloat.

PLEASE DON’T SELF-ISOLATE WITHOUT BOOKS.

Stay safe and remember to stay in touch with friends, family, colleagues and neighbours.
